Meet Crystal Brown, the Founder Behind Trip B Group
TripB Group is a woman-owned dumpster rental and cleanup business built on dependable service, supporting the community and raising awareness for Breast Cancer.
I'm Crystal, a wife, a mom, a breast cancer survivor, and proud owner of TripB Group. TripB Group is a business that has been built on trust, reliability, hard work, and the community. We provide dependable dumpster rentals, junk removal and material delivery for residential and commercial customers. But to me, this business is about more than the work we do, it's about creating something with a purpose. As a breast cancer survivor, supporting breast cancer research and raising awareness is incredibly important to me. Through our #DumpCancer initiative, we use our business as a platform to give back, support patients and survivors, honor those we have lost, and help fund the research that can bring us closer to the next break through. I'm proud to be building a business that represents strength, perseverance, family, community, and hope.
Where it started
The beginning
What made you decide to start it?
At 25 years old I tested positive for the BRCA2 gene mutation and at 31 years old, breast cancer became a part of my story. I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls and I wanted to build something of my own that represented hard work, family, purpose and giving back to my community, while supporting a cause that I hold close to my heart. I saw an opportunity to create a business that made things simpler for people while also building something meaningful for my family and our future.
Early funding
How did you fund the business in the beginning?
In the beginning, funding TripB Group meant believing in the vision and being willing to invest in ourselves. We started by using our own personal savings and resources, carefully budgeting and prioritizing the equipment and expenses that were essential to getting the business up and running. Instead of trying to grow too quickly, we focused on starting small, and allowing each job to help fund the next step.
Off the clock
Family time
What’s your favorite thing to do with your family when you’re off the clock?
To put it simply, my favorite thing to do is simply spend time with my family. Life can get busy, so I really value the moments when I can slow down and be present with my husband and our two daughters. Whether it's going on little adventures, spending time outside, celebrating any special occasions or just being comfy in our home together.
My goal isn't simply to make TripB Group bigger but to make it better and more meaningful.
Pink dumpsters, smart money
Marketing
How do you market your business, and what has worked best?
The biggest way I market TripB Group is through social media and by creating and sharing content that shows not only what we do, but who we are behind the business. I try to make our posts fun, relatable and memorable while also promoting our #DumpCancer mission. Being authentic, consistent and involved with the community has worked best. Simply getting our name out there while advertising our pink dumpsters to support Breast Cancer Awareness has helped us grow. I like to focus on building relationships and trust rather than simply advertising a service.
Celebrating wins
How do you celebrate your wins as a family?
Sometimes celebrating means going out to dinner or doing something fun together, and other times it's as simple as sharing the excitement at home and being proud of what we have accomplished. I want our daughters to see that hard work deserves to be celebrated, not just when something big happens, but with all of the victories along the way.
Money decisions
What’s the smartest money decision you’ve made so far?
Every investment is made with the bigger picture in mind; building a strong, sustainable business that can help support our family, serve our community, and allow us to continue giving back for years to come. Reinvesting in TripB Group rather than focusing on immediate profits has been beneficial to our company. After buying necessary equipment to get started, using profits to promote with marketing, branding and expanding our services has allowed us to achieve more success.
Being authentic, consistent and involved with the community has worked best.
Motherhood
What’s the best part of building a business while raising a family?
The best part of building a business while raising a family is knowing that my children get to watch the journey firsthand and I hope that one day they will continue this journey. I love that my daughters get to grow up seeing what hard work looks like and what it means to take chances, overcome challenges, and build something from the ground up. We get to grow together as a family, while creating a future and a positive mindset to follow your dreams and make a difference.
What's next
What's next
What’s next for your business?
What is next for TripB Group is to continue to grow while staying true to why we started. I want to expand our services, invest in more equipment, reach more customers, and continue building our name in the community that people recognize and trust. A huge part of our future will be to expand our #DumpCancer initiative and finding new ways to raise awareness and support research. My goal isn't simply to make TripB Group bigger but to make it better and more meaningful. We are only getting started and I'm excited to see just how far we can take it.
